It is clear with great tone and very little distortion at load volumes. It is being used to play cassettes while a clown sings and talks with children. When I have found one it has one well over $50.00 and they don't seem to last more than a year. What a waste of good money on a bad product!
There is no point in having a portable system if you can't use it without a plug. The battery when new with a full charge will get you about 3 hours of use. After the first 2-3 months of use it will only get about 2 hours of run time on a full charge. This continues to decreases till the battery is less than 1 hour and is no longer usable for a 1 hour show. We have followed the directions for charging diligently and still the battery life is excessively short. The cost of the batteries, (IF YOU CAN FIND ONE) is ridiculous. To spend $50.00 for a battery that might last a year is just not cost effective.
We use to be able to buy them at 2 for $50. But that distributor has also changed the pricing to $50+ a piece.

I think it is time to find a new system. So if you need a true portable system then this may not be a great investment for you. If you are going to have access to a power outlet most of the time this unit would be great, but then again I have not looked at the other great units that would serve that purpose aw well or better.
