The elevation screw should be adjusted in the following manner; shot too high-turn elevation screw clockwise shot too low - ' ' ' counter-clockwise windage adjustment; shot to left- turn adjuster to the right shot to right- turn adjuster to the left The adjustment screws for both elevation and windage are furnished with click stop graduated lines that represent 2 centimeters each at 300meters distance.
The sight line distance is 760mm.
There are 2 variations of the Elit M-Edstrom diopter sight. Yours has the chamfered shoulder in the center section, while the other type has a straight center section. I do not know which was the first version. Each has about 3m/m in vertical adjustment. The Swiss also made an Elit #201, which was larger with about 10m/m in vertical adjustment, but still made to fit the Swedish mauser ( same hole pattern as the Elit Edstrom & Elite #101 ). No info available, but it may be a 1000 meter sight?????
Back in the mid 1990's when SAMCO brought in the M-41b snipers & M-96 & M-38 rifles, they also sold ' new ' Swiss Elit front & rear diopter sights for $199. I have also seen some Swede target rifles being imported with the Elite #101 sights, as well as the Elit M-Edstrom. Stalex, the original manufacturer of the Elit M-Edstrom sued the Swiss maker of the #101 & #201 for patent infringment & won in court.
Now, the Swiss sights are no longer in production. It does not appear that Stalex is making the Elit M-Edstrom either??????? I do not know the time line for these 2 companies production of their Elit sights?????? Last edited by swede; at 06:28 PM. Well, I guess Stalex did not shut the Swiss company down.
Diopter Sights For K31
Crown Jewels does not list the other versions of the Swiss sight, but I have the #201. Big differance in size.
The height from the top of the base to the top of the elevation wheel is about 39 m/m. It is fixed & the aperture moves inside the center body. On the Elit M-Edstrom ( both variations ) the elevation wheel moves from about 20m/m in height to 23m/m in height from the top of the base.
The Elite #101 moves from 22.5m/m to 25.5m/m in height. Here are three SM-AGJ that all are slightly different. Can someone tell me why?I can tell you that of the three above, only the one on the right will fit the updated rear sight base that Husqvarna installed on their 'purpose built' rifles. The others are too wide to fit between the 'ears' of the updated base and the pivoting end needs to be inlet, like this right one is. I have tried my AGJ-ram on my Husqvarna 1942 m/38 and it wouldn't fit. If I had to guess about the other two, I'd say the difference between the dial on the left and middle ones are just a change in manufacturing method. I'm sure if you place a piece of semi-transparent paper over one and transcribe the dial markings, they will line up with the other.
BTW, I don't know what the m/43 micrometer sight is. What is this one?
Have pictures? I have never seen one graduated out to 800m. Below is my AGJ-ram. It came to me in an F-ram packaging, which I suspect is not correct.
Metzgeri Last edited by Metzgeri; at 01:32 AM. Reason: spelling, duh!! Hi Metzgeri, M/43 was a leaf rear sight as pictured below. Was only put on the Husqvarna made m/96 that didnt got the AGJ-sight meaning the first 8000 (have also seen the number 5000 written). Guess most FSR shooters had the m/43 removed and changed to later alternatives. The 'SM sikte F-ram' was sold by both Widforss and Vapen-Depoten from the 1948 catalogues and told to be the new improved version of the AGJ-sight. Mine below is 'cut' as one of the AGJ above.
Do you think it means it has made that to fit a 'purpose-built' Husqvarna m/38? Yes your package fits of course the SM sikte F-ram. You can send it to me and I will wrap it around my F-ram sight. Not interested to do it the other way around. Regards, ARILAR.
Aaaah, OK, now I know what you're talking about. My collection is sadly lacking a Husqvarna m/96 so I have not seen that 800m sight before and crown jewels does not give it the 'm/43' designation. I may be on thin ice here and following is pure specualations.

It seems that 5000-8000 Husqvarna m/96 left the plant with the m/43 sight (because to small quantity AGJ-sights available at that moment). Probably wanted the FSR-shooters a better rear-sight and changed from m/43 sight to the AGJ, F-ram or m/55 when they could. A few years later came the diopters. So.probably not so many m/43 still left on the rifles as the years passed. For the moment not any m/96 or m/38 in my small collection so I am lacking 'guns' to compare with. Getting back on the subject on the different rear-sights later.
Regards, ARILAR. Probably wanted the FSR-shooters a better rear-sight and changed from m/43 sight to the AGJ, F-ram or m/55 when they could. But has I ever seen an ad for a m/55 on the civil market?
No, not in FSR magazines from 1955-57, nor in Vapen-Depoten or Widforss catalogues. Below is from military spare-parts catalogue 1963 showing SM sight m/55 for the 41B. But were did SM sight F-ram m/55 go? Here are the the two different SM m/55 sights. One with and one without F-ram.
I have seen them with or lacking the three Crowns (as in Crown Jewels). Anybody has a clue?? Both with scale to 600 meters. (There was early complaints from FSR shooters that the AGJ sight up to 750 meters went to far).
Regards, ARILAR. Hello, Maybe someone can tell me if there is used a diopter on a Swedisch Mauser M 96. In a military section. There is some discusion about this, for a competition in a dicipline we call 'Veteraan geweer' When it is used we can use a diopter to.
Thanks DirkIf I understand your question correctly, the answer is that the Swedish military did not use the diopter sights. The were (and are) used in civilian competitions. I have seen this discussed before, and the result seems to be that diopter sights were not permitted in military rifle target competitions in the U.S. I believe that there are others on this forum who can give you a more definite answer on this subject, however.
