. 10515 Answers SOURCE: Hi, The present Graphics DLLs are compatible with Designer 3.1 with OLE (dated May 28, 1992). If you are running an older version of Designer on the OWS and the drawing uses Designer fonts, displaying the drawing would give a protect violation from DCP by MGXLIB.DLL because the MGXFNT.DLL are not compatible. You can replace the older version of the MGXFNT.DLL with a new one. To do this, copy MGXFNT.JCI from the C: FMS BIN directory to designer libraries directory (MGXLIBS) and change the file extension to DLL (i.e., MGXFNT.DLL). By default, the MGXLIBS directory is located under C: WINDOWS; however, you should copy the file in the same directory that is pointed to by the Libraries parameter in the Micrografx section of the WIN.INI (e.g., Libraries=C: WINDOWS MGXLIBS Let me know,if needed further assistance. For All MICROGRAFX DRAW 5 guys. I was tired looking for patches to run mi MICROGRAFX DRAW 5 in 64bit computer, with no success. But I installed Windows 8 recently in my computer, and I found out that Windows 8 let me install my very loved program MICROGRAFX DRAW 5.

And it is running as it should be. I am really happy for it.

I kicked windows 7 out. As soon as Windows 8 received the installation command; it told me that a 16bit program needs a compatibility. Then it asked me if I want to have that.

I clicked YES; and Windows 8 did all the work. The program got installed seamless in seconds; with all the features. Sincerely; Francisco. Jun 18, 2013. Each Micrografx Designer 3.1.drw file should hold one page of drawings, and that one page should be at page 1 in the Micrgrafx layout.

Corel Designer Technical Suite X5 has a free 30-day trial period. This program will import a Micrografx Designer.drw file and let you SAVE AS or EXPORT AS an.svg file. Many current drawing programs, e.g., Visio, can import this.svg file and let you save as a.vsd file. But if your.drw file contained many pages of drawings, your converted file will have many pages of drawings but often in a single large page that you cannot edit. So safer to start out with.drw files that each contain one page, and that one page should be drawn at page 1 within Micrografx Designer.

I have used the above method to convert very old Micrografx Designer 3.1.drw files to Visio.vsd files. One problem was the Greek letters that were italics in the.drw file are not italics in the.vsd file. Dec 15, 2010. Hello, I had the same problem.

Windows draw has been working for years under Windows XP then suddenly impossible. I think there is a conflict with others programs i installed. I found THE solution after reading many topics on the net: Install acrobat reader 4 on your system. Then run acrobat reader 4. Last, run Micrografx windows draw 6 while acrobat reader 4 is running on your system too. Maybe it works with a more recent version of acrobat reader but i didn't try.

Maybe this solution works also with windows draw 5 but i didn't try. Enjoy Jul 10, 2009.
